The Hornbill Festival of Nagaland is a celebration of the past and the present. It is a cultural extravaganza that not only celebrates the tribal way of life but also bridges the gap between generations and revives and strengthens human bonds. It is a magical experience in itself.

And the biggest rock event is no doubt a part of the vibrant Hornbill celebrations. Apart from this, an adventure car rally and various other contest and events are organized during this festival. The warrior log drums, the colorful headgear, the soulful war cry, the exquisite costumes et al are simply remarkable in their own ways. Delicious local cuisines and delicacies that are typical to each of the Naga tribes are served in their respective Morungs along with the finest rice beer. The amazing food simply makes it a gastronomic festival.

  1. Day 1 Guwahati to Kohima

    Meet and Greet at Guwahati city by our representative and transfer to Kohima its approx 7 to 8 hrs drive (390 km).

  2. Day 2 Explore Hornbill Campsite

    Today after breakfast you’ll be driven to be taken to the Hornbill festival. You will then start the exploration of the Naga tribes like Morungs and enjoy their food and local games with their dance. After enjoying the Hornbill Festival you will return to the campsite and enjoy some BBQ and Campfire followed by dinner and overnight rest.

  3. Day 3 Trek to Dzukou Valley

    After breakfast you will check out from the Camp and will be transferred to Vishwema Village. It is a drive of only 20 Kms. and will take about 1 hour. From there, your trek to Dzukou valley commences with guide and porters. It is a trek of about 4hours and the trail is marked by beautiful streams and with fern, juniper and moss vegetation.

    Dzukou Valley is a valley located at the border of the Indian states of Nagaland and Manipur. It’s a spectacular visual treat of emerald green hills, lush forests, serpentine streams and myriad colourful flowers that dot the vast plain valley and its meadows. It is popularly known as “Valley of Flowers of the North-East”. It is situated at an altitude of 2438 m above sea level, behind the Japfu Peak located in Nagaland. This interesting valley looks like a mown lawn from a distance and is watered by two meandering streams viz Dzukou river and the Japfu river which often freezes in winter.

    Dzukou Valley is a place unadulterated by the modern architect of technology and is definitely going to take you back in time where nature left us awe inspired in every step. The place is in itself screams out whimsical satisfaction and the idyllic view is something one cannot get over with.

    On reaching the rest house/camp site of Dzukou Valley, lunch will be served. Spend the evening near the Campfire and follow by dinner and a good sleep.

  4. Day 4 Dzukou to Khonoma

    After spending a day, bid goodbye to this amazing valley and make the way down through the Zakhma route. The Zakhma route is much steeper and hence will take a little less than 3 and half hours to reach the motarable road to Khonoma at the bottom.

    On reaching Khonoma, you will be taken on a guided tour of the First Green village of Asia and explore the Angami tribe and their villages and also some other tribes. After Lunch you will be taken on a guided tour of the landscape and then knowledge sharing on the Jhum Cultivation technique. By the evening back to campsite.

    Spend the evening near a bonfire followed by dinner and a sound sleep.

  5. Day 5 Khonoma to Guwahati

    After breakfast you will be transferred to Dimapur Airport/Dimapur Railway Station/Guwahati hotel for your onward journey where you go #aageseright with sweet and unforgettable memories from the trip. It will take 8 to 9 hours for us to head back from Khonoma.

    You can either take a late night flight to Delhi or stay overnight in Guwahati.
